I couldnt find one of these threads?
I finally got around to making one. There's a few kinks that need to be worked out but it actually works better than I thought. I'm also going to be mounting a monitor near where i stand so i can actually see what i am shooting. I will hopefully get i painted this weekend as long as its not to windy or it doesnt rain, and hopefully get the monitor on. Test video up in a little while.

I have a few more things i want to make also, camera dolly that can be used on the sand, camera stabilizer which will be used once i get around to making a short film, and getting a 35mm adapter one day, and a waterproof housing Hopefully next week I will be able to by a external mic also... Tongue

Nice! I've been meaning to make one. How well does it pan?

It's pans good, there's a few things I need to do to it though so it shakes a little less, I may end up getting a motorized pan/tilt head for where the camera is so I can pan up there too it's just the weight might be too much

Would you really drop around 100 bucks just to throw a monitor on it really?

Umm...yeah it's really hard to see what your shooting when it's that high up trust me, and I already have a monitor so I won't need to spend any money

Yes I understand that but I wouldn't waste 100 bucks when I could just try the shot again you know but since you already have one I'd do the same thing. I'm thinking about making my arm out of metal.

I need the monitor for reference for both skim and short films that I will be making. And I would rather get the shot first time than have to chech the playback each time to see if I got it. I would make the arm out of alumanum since its lighter that's what i'm making my next one out of

That trick at the end is tight, I'm going to have to steal it.
